Elzabé Truter

N.DIP Microbiology (Pretoria, South Africa)

After completing her studies in 1979, Elzabé was Head of Department of Water Affairs Biological Laboratories for 10 years. During this period she was responsible for the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Quality Management Systems and the validation of test methods for water. She then joined the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) where she was Manager of the Microbiology Laboratory and Quality Manager for the Water Laboratories in Pretoria (Chemistry and Microbiology).

She established ISO-LAB Consulting in 2008 and since then has been involved in assisting testing laboratories with the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025 standard, internal auditing and training. She has been involved in a number of International, European Union and UNIDO projects in the SADC Region to assist laboratories with the implementation of ISO/IEC 17205 as well as training in method validation and measurement uncertainty for microbiology laboratories.
